The first of its kind for two female South African singer songwriters, ‘Tigerlily’ is a rich blend of Josie Field’s deep, soulful blues tones with Laurie Levine’s velvet honey country inflections, with a strong focus on their elegant harmonies. After sixteen years experience, nine albums, a dozen SAMA nominations between them and a Standard Bank Ovation Award for their joint show at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival, the songwriters have honed their craft on ‘Tigerlily’, with eleven beautifully constructed and catchy songs.
